this was an incredible show. i recorded it from the audience, but ended up losing the main set disc data when i frantically changed batteries before the encores (got those at least). thanks so much for getting this up; i was very sad when i did the encoding the day after, but this makes it all okay.

and with jon wurster (superchunk) on drums, the band has never sounded better IMHO.

what a great night.

Subject: I was at this show

and it was fantastic. So glad to see it show up on the archive. I was right by the corner of the stage that John Vanderslice stood on when he joined the band and you can faintly hear me say "it works on the electric" at the end of "You or Your Memory." (JD states he had never played it electric before during the pre-song banter that appears at the end of "The House That Dripped Blood" here.) Darnielle was definitely having a good time, and I think it shows in these recordings. Many thanks to the taper for recording and sharing this great show that my wife and I now have to preserve our memories of a wonderful experience.

Subject: What a Great Show

What great quality. This is no bootleg - it's right from the sound board, and it sounds like it. This is one of the best quality TMG recording on the archive in my opinion.

The 03/07/2007 show also has equally good quality, but the crowd has a couple drunk assholes that ruin parts of the show. It just sounds like John is having a better time in this recording.

Since the set list between this show and the 03/07 are very similiar, if you're choosing between one or the other, I'd take this one.
