Rose Red and Upheaval, the husband and wife duo that comprise Turmoil, as well as running the Amduscias Records netlabel, make their Timetheory debut with this split release, "Disambiguation". Never ones to shy away from dark and disturbing themes, they have provided 3 tracks each that reflect their respective influences and life experiences.
Rose Red's tracks "Sinking" (featured on the "We Are Timetheory" artist compilation), "Shock Therapy" and "Neurotic Inner Self" use gentler dark ambient sounds to create their unsettling feeling and exorcise the demons of unfortunate and traumatic experiences that she has undergone.
Upheaval's tracks "Alone" and "Animosity" are bolder and more aggressive, and reveal the kind of inner tension, alienation and residual anger that lie below of the surface of a man's mind as it attempts to rid itself of those feelings once and for all and encounters hard-worn but limited success in trying. "gene Mutation" has a more science fiction sound to it, no doubt influenced by years spent in the underground tunnels of Florida's industrial sewage systems.
