Bath, a duo from Cleveland, Ohio are the creators of this release, which marks an unexpected but welcome deviation from the Timetheory norm (if there is such a thing). The music of Bath is more gothic, electronically industrial and lyrically oriented than any previous releases. "Endpoint" has a sound that is reminiscent of early 4ad and Nettwerk albums, or perhaps like the import CD in the discount bin we used to enjoy discovering in the late 80's.
the glassy ambient wash of "Skua" opens the album, followed by the darkly glitchy "redshot" which slowly mutates from slow glitch to house beats and stomping techno. "Alcohol" introduces the vocals of Christie Bailey who adds robotic warmth to the chilly calm of the song. Robots come to the fore again in "Dark Sky Ate" where vocals by The Cobbler sound as mournful as a person permanently lost in a microcircuit factory feels over time.
