Correction: The Jeff Beck "You Know What I Mean" cover is at 3:10 into track 13. Sorry that correction took a few years...

//It starts at 3:10 into the song and goes for about 30 seconds. Just listen to it and then Jeff Beck's guitar and you'll see... or hear//

This was so sick. I saw them 2 nights before in Hartford, but that can't even come close. Co-bill with AGP random, but awesome.

Subject: Awesome!
The New Deal rock, and this concert is great quality. This has got me even more pumped to see them this summer then I was. Only one question; There is 16 tracks in total, and by looking at the setlist I have no idea how to label the songs. Any help would be appreciated!

In Gone Gone Gone they play a riff from "You Know What I Mean" By Jeff Beck on Blow by Blow. Just thought you guys might wanna know (because i dont think too many new deal fans know a lot of Jeff Beck) SIICK SHOW, glad it was playing in MA

Subject: First show, great show, what show?
This was the first time that I got to see these guys and I was kicked out by some meathead bouncer when I walked out of the bathroom. To this day I don't know why, it seriously must've been mistaken identity b/c I really wasn't wasted and I was there for all of two songs before I was yanked. It sucked, but the show is phenomenal. Spent the following 4th of July up in Vermont listening to it round a bonfire and it ended up being a much more positive and amazing memory than the actual show itself. Thanks guys!!

Subject: Great stuff!
This is the first time I've ever heard these guys, and they ROCK! A friend of mine who is a huge fan of theirs recommended them to me, and usually this isn't my kind of music. However, this stuff really gets me going.
The jams are awesome, and like a previous poster said, it's so clear and polished, it sounds like it's a studio recording.
Great stuff, and I hope to see them live sometime.

Subject: Been there, head THAT! But Be here NOW deal!
Wyeeee....errrrrr.oooooor..ahhhhhh.uh..eeeeeeeeeerrrrrr
you all know what sound im talking bout. I am new to archive.org, and this is the reason right here. I can officailly say that my eardrums reverberated to these exact wavelengths at the worcester palladium. And what else can you say, there is nothing that will make you break your booty this hard than by experiencing the new deal. I say this sitting on my sore ass after coming from NYC Bowery ballroom shows 11/26/27/04 shows. And now what I must say is that I cannot qwait for them to get here, because what I first thought and read here is that this is the most downloaded TND show, and lots of people loved it. I loved it, it was my New DEAL heyday. They played techno beam, and the early versions of gone gone gone, which are way nmore intense than on the studio album!!! SO crowd driven!!! I saw Hartford a few nights before this, and it was a real debate which one was the primo of the two. Now I am certain that second night Bowery, 11/27/04 was he BEST TND show I have seen!!!. I predeict that it will both precede and surpass this show in both its energy and dancebility, and sound quality, as I was TOLd it was recorded DIGI off the main board!
I CAN't F'in WAIT YEAAAAAAHGGGHHHHAf!!
there is definitely a new song played both nights, very melodic and composed, but still F'in rockin' new deal. I can't wait for the new show, till the Middle East (great cambirdge venue! I love you!) sounded rockin' .

last words. bwow bw0w bwow bwow benuu bupbee naaaaaooowww!!!

Subject: Diggin it
I downloaded the show after having several people suggest the band, pony from umphreys being one of them, and am very happy with the group. If you are in doubt listen to disc two, track one, pretty thick playing there. Enjoy

Subject: WOOOOOO For Worcester
This is the most downloaded tND concert off the archive. It is also the most commented on. The simple reason being that it's a friggin fantastic show. Download away. The first fifteen minutes of this show are the best tND I have ever heard. End of disc 1 track 2, my oh my!

This is my first download for The New Deal, and it won't be my last! The sound is great for this one, and I think it really captures how it must've felt in Worcester. Excuse me... gotta go download more. :) Thanks for the show!

Subject: Correct the mis-info
Just want to correct this statement:

> recomend finding a diff show with using a better mic(akg 391)

The c3000s's and the 390 series (with card or hypercard caps) are comparable in both sound quality and price ($600-$800 for a pair). They are both considered to be "mid range" microphones.

High end microphones would be Neumann KM140's or TLM170's, AKG 414's or 480's - and pretty much anything coming from Schoeps.

Subject: Sick Show
After briefly listening to the show i can make two asertions: the show is amazing - the band is just on, but the sound quality is a little sub par - not as good as some of the other new deal live recordings i have listened to. It's a tought trade off. I recomend finding a diff show with using a better mic(akg 391)

First show that I've been too, but it certainly won't be the last. They redifined the term "working a crowd." I haven't thrown it down like that in a long time.

ubelievable show in a great venue. the new deal played one long 2 hour set with lots of upbeat tunes. great energy and a clean, crisp recording. my favorite highlight is the nasty 'journey' cover during the encore. do yourself a favor and download this show. thanks david and brad for taping/transfering/uploading so quickly. can't wait to catch these guys at bonnaroo!

Notes

Location: Taper's Section, just right of SBD, ~ 10 ft. stand.

Patch, transfer, and encoding by Brad Leblanc. Thanks Dave!

Notes:
- ~ 5 Second fades were applied to the beginning and end of the set using SF.
- Disc 1 and 2 combine together seamlessly, so disc breaks can occur anywhere if
you're unhappy with the above.
- Not being familiar with The New Deal's setlists or song titles, I just placed
my track splits wherever I found a noticable transition.
- This recording is a hell of a good one, Dave did a fantastic job. Enjoy!
