Subject: Track 7
I don't know. Sheilds and Shearer certainly have something to say - with their precise melodies and jaw-dropping beats (and their consistently fresh material), but I feel The Duo may have muddied the waters here. Their sound has become dark, erratic and noodley. I've heard both Joshua Tree (amazing!) and Studio B and those shows make me want to dance my ass off. This just leaves me standing in place, trying to appreciate the experiment. But, I can say that they did hit the pocket in track 7. This one took me there.

Subject: Join NYE Run
Thanks so much for getting this one on tape!! This NYE run has been off the hook for the Join, 12/29 at the Sonar was out of this world. They even threw down a tweaked-out version of Becky that had my duo-loving friend shaking his head in disbelief.
Keep the Join alive guys!

Subject: Solid stuff
I had never heard of them before. I tried it on a whim. Tracks 1-3 had a great builtup and intensity. No vocals in this band, it's just keys / synth / drums / guitar / rock and energy. fun 'jams' though I don't like jam bands. Good stuff. I'll check them out again.

Subject: Sick show
One of the best I've seen, some parts were pure magic. A great time was had by all. You can really hear when it switched from the New Deal leading to the Duo leading. I liked how each person got to just play whatever they wanted and the rest of them could just fill the rest of the parts without even a guitar on the stage. Thanks for the upload cant wait to hear it!
