Subject:
Elegant jingle but poor video and audio
Uniformly poor video and audio in all four parts. The video pauses for half a second or so on a regular basis, and the sound may also halt, but they never get out of sync. It is a shame about the poor quality because most of these commercials are quite appealing.
Part 2
“You can’t say no to a Marlboro” jingles. An elegant jingle, what I consider to be one of the finest cigarette jingles, particularly the version sung in harmony by a husband and wife. Sung also by Tex Ritter and Hoagy Carmichael.
Part 3
This part starts with a deep authoritative voice interviewing a man who smokes while working on his car. It has an impressive, commanding feel. Then that catchy jingle, “Filter, Flavour, Flip Top box” in a variety of situations involving a sax player, a recording studio, and bouncing cigarette boxes, amongst others.
Part 4
Several ads based on the “Filter, Flavor, Flip-Top Box” jingle. One shows the (assumed) composer at work, another is animated. Three ads for “The Marlboro Man”: fisherman, weekend farmer, and a swimming pool diver.
