Notes:
- This file was sent to me from Brian Krahmer. In the late '90s, early '00's, he administered a Tape Tree of the full 1998 Other Ones tour.
Many of the shows are missing source information. Please contact thefurthurproject@gmail.com if you were a part of this tree and can help with the source info.
- It's entirely possible that this could be the same source as https://etreedb.org/shn/15557; if so, this is the first FLAC version, and sounds a little more dynamic (to me anyway).
This show is part of The Furthur Project -

After finally jumping on tour in Scranton, we arrived in Pittsburgh & Star Lake amphitheater.
Unfortunately, this was one of the few shows I didn't make it in for. I basically was living day to day, and I worked hard in the lot for this show, and decided to save the ticket money for the long haul to Alpine Valley.
So I worked the lot. All day. Hot sun. Folks tailgated in the parking lots. They celebrated with their friends. I wondered who they were. I wondered what it was like for them back where they came from-did they have family? Were they happy? What about the Grateful Dead did they love?
This show also was the first show where I noticed how crazy it could get on vendor row when the police were a minimal presence (especially compared to Montage Mountain). There were folks openly flaunting their consumption of illegal items on a scale that I'd never seen done publicly.
From the lot, I really enjoyed the "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue". Weir added a Playing in the band lick in the beginning & ending jam. Later on, the Playing Reprise>Sugar Magnolia was awesome. I was joined by others unable to get in and we danced outside the fence, and all our hopes & dreams were being fulfilled in real time. It was a grand moment.
The ending Sunshine Daydream & U.S. Blues encore was the rock and roll Grateful Dead we needed as we made the 9 hour trek to East Troy, Wisconsin.
