Subject: I remember these shows.
This was one of three shows at the Point. Each night was almost all the same material, but they were amazing intimate shows and they were a test run of much of the Siamese Dream material.
I remember the tickets went on sale one morning only at Wuxtry in Decatur (and maybe Wax-n-Facts) and were ridiculously cheap - like $5 or something.
The Center Stage shows were after the album was recorded and there were Variety Playhouse shows the same week. I think the Center Stage show was an add-on after the two Variety nights sold out.

Subject: don't overlook this set - historical gem
the notes don't do this recording justice. yes, the quality is average for a bootleg.. but if you're a fan of the band, don't overlook what this show is.
this overlaps with the dates of the Siamese Dream recording sessions in nearby Marietta, GA. Prior to being in GA, they had one show at the Metro a couple weeks prior, and it was a couple months prior to that when they finished some dates in Europe.
This was not just another show in a concert tour, it may well have been a test bed for the songs they were about to record... or perhaps a couple shows to just let it out before studio sessions started. In any event, there are a couple of observations to make note of...
(1) i can not find any set lists prior to this with Cherub Rock. It was the first release off Siamese but the last song written for it. This live version before recording started could potentially be the first (or even only) time they performed it live prior to recording SD.
(2) some of the best songs off Pisces (i.e. Hello Kitty Kat, Frail, Starla) are all being played here with the familiars from the up and coming SD album. This show really gives you a glimpse perhaps of what BC thought the best material of that timeframe was. SD could have been a double album of it's own with the Pisces outtakes. This show's setlist is a notable combination of all the material, before Siamese Dream had any defined songlist.
great recording, thank you.

Subject: Little help remembering
I'm trying to remember if this is the show I went to, needless to say it's been quite a while. It was my senior year in high school.
I thought the venue was the Center Stage Theatre, however. Can someone help me remember? Another detail I remember is the snow on the ground (always memorable in Atlanta). I think the show had to be rescheduled to this date because of the snow. One other thing, Billy got hit with a battery some knucklehead threw.
The setlist seems right, and I remember being blown away by the music.
Soma cuts out and Geek USA cuts in over tape flip. Not a quality recording. For completists only. Thanks to Ben Golomb for letting me borrow the tapes!
