In The News: When is a majority not a majority... when it's a Democratic majority: The Senate Democrats get their vote on an Iraq withdrawal and they lose, but they say they won, and also say that it proves to anti-war activists that they can't win.
Maybe they'll win at padding the appropriations bill currently in the House of Representatives with a plethora of pork (barrel).
The House is also working on a bill for 'phased re-deployment' (...most likely to Afghanistan and beyond), but it won't pass either.
Senate Judiciary Committee to hand down indictments next week over Justice Department firings. Will 'Dirty Harriet' Miers and Karl Rove be subpoenaed? Fred Fielding, Super-negotiator knows... The rest of us will just have to stand by...
