In The News: Yesterday, president Bush explained to the media that he had no regrets about destroying Iraq to "save" it, and we're on our way to victory. Anti-war demonstrations across the US were anemic.

But this piece from Vernal New York, population 26,000 or so, testifies to problems within the belly of the beast:

VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) - Ten people were arrested after police say they began shoving officers at an anti-war rally in upstate New York.

Town of Vestal Police Chief John Butler says some are charged with disorderly conduct, a violation, and others are charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

About 60 people participated in the demonstration," [In Full, WCAX, Burlinton Vermont]

The Prime Minister of China is willing to discuss the situation in Tibet with the Dalai Lama. Details on other incidents outside Lhasa, the capital. Note that China is using their newly built Tibetan railroad to move troops and equipment.

The Russians might deal on 'allowing' the US to put missile systems in Czechoslovakia and Poland (whether the citizens of those countries are interested is another story) to defend against some unknown Iranian threat.

3992.... Dead soldiers... Iraq, remember Iraq?

Are they last week's numbers, and if so, are they disinforming us so the casualty count stayed artificially low for yesterday's Moratorium actions? Of course, but try to prove it...
