In The News: Starbucks will pay $100 MILLION dollars in a lawsuit filed by employees who claimed shift supervisors (most likely categorized as salaried employees or somesuch to avoid paying overtime, and making little more than the worker they "supervise" (term loosely used)) were wrongly receiving tips.

Nancy Pelosi is in Dharamsala with the Dalai Lama saying that every nation should support the revolt in Tibet, while unrest continues and the Chinese army is moving soldiers and material in via a railroad just completed in the last couple of years. A possible boycott of the Olympic opening ceremonies by the European Union is under discussion. President Bush still plans to attend. Details.

Private contractors hired by the passport office to help catch up on the massive backlog of applications now that you have to have one to leave the country, have been perusing/using/accessing Barack Obama's personal data from the files... as recently as last week.
