Travus T. Hipp - Cabale News Service[November 21 2008] Travus T. Hipp Morning News & Commentary: The Nice Thing About Paranoia - The Obama Administration Is Having Behind The Scene Discussions That Will Shape America's Future... Are We "In The Big Club" Yet? (November 21, 2008)

In The News: Thanks again to Christopher M. for supplying a copy of the commentary.

It's the last day of the Lame Duck congressional session and the nation's not safe yet... There will be ANOTHER session to discuss the US auto industry's bankruptcy, what to do about it (if anything) and other issues.

One thing DID get done. There will be a 13 week extension of unemployment benefits with a possible additional 20 weeks to be discussed.

President Bush is on his way to Peru for the Pacific Rim Conference in an attempt to push his 'free trade' agreement for Latin America. Expect protests.

They look like this:
paro-nacional-peru

Hillary Clinton will be offered the Secretary of State office in the new Obama administration.

A Washington DC judge orders the IMMEDIATE release of five Guantanamo detainees declaring the government to have no evidence whatsoever that they had done anything to be classified 'enemy combatants' except exist at the wrong time in history (post 9-11) at the wrong place on the planet (Bosnia).

Rep Dingell, an auto industry flack, will be replaced by Henry Waxman as chair of the congressional Energy Committee.

In the "Big Club" you say?

“But I’ll tell you what they don’t want, They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That’s against their interests.

They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around the kitchen table and figure out how badly they’re getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago.

You know what they want? Obedient workers – people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork but just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it.

And, now, they’re coming for your Social Security. They want your fucking retirement money. They want it back, so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street.

And you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all, sooner or later, because they own this fucking place. It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it. You and I are not in the big club.” –George Carlin
