QuickTime is an excellent movie viewer application that uses the latest streaming technology to access instant content on the Web. This viewer plays clips in almost every movie format, and is the only player that will work with some exclusive Apple formats (*.mov).

Subject: Windows Aero
When you install Q, it hides in your system tray and starts with Windows. If you use Windows Vista with the Aero theme, it will switch to the less attractive Vista Basic scheme. You have to completely kill Q before you can use Aero.
Q and Aero do not get along. If you use Vista, I would recommend you downloading GPL/GNU Media Player from VLC, it's awesome!

Subject: Quicktime sucks
And putting this here serves no purpose, sorry but it's true. Beware if you install this it will force itself as the default player for everthing. Try to play a game of cards and a Q will pop up on your dining room table.
Sorry, I feel better now.

Subject: Tucows QuickTime player
Watched Peggy Lee on PBS do "Wind Beneath My Wings." Searched for it with Google, found Internet Archive, downloaded "12.mov," couldn't play it with Windows XP. Found many dead links to QuickTime in the Archive FAQ, then real link to Tucows and QuickTime 6.5.1. Downloaded it, did normal installation, ran demo clip, wouldn't run Miss Lee. Dialog box said something was missing, and it couldn't be found at the QuickTime site.
Joined the Archive to write this review, but expect to find many other uses. Thank you for making this possible, even if it doesn't work.
