I invite you to use these raw audio materials to create new audio works.
Anybody and everybody is welcome to use these sounds.
Download these short one-minute tracks and use them any way you want.
Collaborate with my recordings to create a new one-minute contribution for the International Email Audio Art Project, or use them to create longer audio works which you can publish on your website, on tape, or on disc.
I suggest using the lossless CD-quality WAV and Flac versions for best results.
You can preview the tracks by listening to the mp3 versions in the music player in the upper right corner of the page.
Collaborate with the tracks simply by adding your sounds and mixing them together to make a piece.
OR
chop up, hack, sample, layer, stack, loop, collage, reverse, paste together, add effects, mix, remix, mangle, shred, destroy and deconstruct the tracks.
You might want to use an entire track or several tracks in your new audiowork.
OR you might just want to use a few seconds that appeal to you.
Do whatever you want with these recordings. They are yours to use as you wish.
Please bookmark this page because I will continue to add new material. Check back often, about once a week.
The first 30 tracks of audio material that I have uploaded are in the category No-Input Mixer Board Feedback Loop. These are improvised minimal electronic recordings, raw, without editing, or additional processing or effects - recorded directly to CDR. These might be considered Noise, because there are no melodies. Some of the tracks DO contain oscillator-based rhythms and pulsing patterns. These are pure analog electronic tones. Some of this sounds like old computer games. Other parts sound like classic analog synthesizer sounds. Other parts are abrasive electronic feedback tones. I could imagine everyone from Chefkirk to Lissajou to Cementimental to Jon Thoresen to Jaan Patterson to Julia LaDense to Kathy Burkett to Ironing (and any of my hundreds of audio artist friends!!!) collaborating with these tracks.
Later today or tomorrow, or soon at least, I will upload new recordings created with Korg Monotron analog synth, Moog Rogue analog synth, Little Boy Blue analog synth, Fuglewicz Noise Drone Machine, noise mystery box, circuit bent Casio SK-1, and other minimal electronic sounds.
The first 30 tracks are as follows:
Tracks 1 through 10 -- no-input mixer feedback loop with Moog MF-107 FreqBox. I use a Behringer UB802 mini mixer.
Tracks 11 through 17 -- no-input mixer feedback loop with Moog MF-107 Freqbox and the Voltage Controlled Filter (VCF) of the Korg Monotron
Tracks 18 through 21 -- no-input mixer feedback loop with Moog MF-102 Ring Modulator
Tracks 22 through 30 -- no-input mixer feedback loop with Moog MF-102 Ring Modulator and the Voltage Controlled Filter (VCF) of the Korg Monotron
I just uploaded 30 more new tracks of me improvising on my Circuit Bent Casio SK-1.
Tracks 31 through 60 -- 30 Circuit Bent Casio SK-1 improvisation tracks. Heavy, gnarly, primitive electronic sounds, with some automated, rhythmic, pulsing sequences or patterns, as well as some parts in which the machine self-composed, and crashing, lo-tech craziness. Wildly, totally unpredictable, this switch- and body contact-laden synth has been one of my favorite instruments for several years.
