This recording is incredible. My favorite part was thinking the "A 5th of Beethoven" was going to be really lame and then having it absolutely blow my mind.

This was my 1st UM show. Killer setlist, Utopian Fir and All in Time were sick. Cant wait to see them at the Canopy again in a few weeks

it's impossible to compare jambands to eachother. different genres are stupid to compare, but u can compare different shows and this is why we rate them. Im not a big UM fan, but this concert is just plain fun to listen to. reminds of moe with their americana mid western style with great guitar licks.

Subject: superb shit
this is a sick show, nice recording, recomended. and by the way, you can't try to compare umphreys to ymsb.. they are both very bomb but they are completley different styles.

Subject: 5-star show
I'll gladly add in another 5-star rating to help get the rating back up from a cheap attempt at assasination.
This show simply sizzles with the skill and excitement of '05 UM performance. As mentioned, the All In Time is so good it's worthy of repeat plays - just brilliant. The band works together like few others, and the stratospheric guitar skills of Jake and BB are at the point where they can no longer be kept a secret.
Definitely worth 5.

This show has a lot of qualities that many of the shows I have heard by these guys lack. There is usually something messed with the recordings by these guys or the flow of the setlist is sort of off or somewhat predictable. But quality is solid, setlist flows nicely, guitar and vocals are precise. Seriously though, what the hell is up with people giving this show 1 in 5 rating. The point of rating is giving a rating relative to other shows by the same bands and it sucks ass when you are trying to find sick shows like this one but some cracker has dicided to lower the rating. Not cool.

For anyone to say what CMJ said is just baffling. Obviously sir, you have no musical abilities, I'd like to see you form a band that can do what they do. Have you ever heard the expression "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all?" Well I think this is the perfect context, so please.

If you don't like the band, do not review them. It's that simple. The reviews are for fans of the bands so we can take a quick look at the star rating to find out what other fans think of the show. If they bore you, keep it to yourself or tell your friends or family. WE don't want to hear it. I'm not trying to be rude, just trying to keep this rating system honest. There's just been too many times that a killer show has an average rating because haters want to put their 2 cents in. Just be cool and download whatcha like. Just my 2 cents. Peace, Love, and Lady Grease.

Subject: huh?
lame? no style? I'm a former semi-fan of UM(now fully a believer) and even before i really got into umph's i knew that that they had loads of style and energy, but i didn't appreciate all the style they have. they're very precise and at the same time loose with their jamming. and even that varies. u gotta give in and let the band throw it at u how they will. i still prefer some songs to others and all that, but these guys are great songwriters and performers, complete with all the wacky antics of a young, fun, debauchery-laced rock band.

Hey 1 star guy, ARE YOU INSANE?! This show's got it all. Nonstop jamming through the first set, All in Time, 17 min. Miss Tinkle's, and a kick ass Glory. In most cases I let people have their own opinions, but in this case I revoke your opinion and your 1 star. DOWNLOAD NOW...BEST SHOW SINCE THE RIVIERA! ....also check out the 2005-7-15 Richmond show for the best Making Flippy Floppy ever. (CMJ Archivist, if you don't like UM then why the hell are you rating them? Your just bringing down the stars).

You are skewing the ratings. This show is the best 05 I have heard so far. The transition from Prower to Glory gives me chills. Passing is a great new song. The whole August>>13 is amazing, showing how improved they have gotten in their segueing. This segue made the best of April podcasr. Resolution?Jimmy>Socialble is great as well. The only thing wrong with this show is the poorly placed Van Halen cover. Stick to Panama & Hot for teachers guys.

I am so very happy Umphrey's chose to play such a fantastic show at the canopy! A tasty first set with several "big guns" (Utopian,Andy's,In Time) made way for an equally tasty second set including a great Resolution. When they went straight into Glory from Prowler the place lit up! Then Dump City and Mulche's to finish the set. Also Ishould note the encore of Beethoven's 5th, quite an unexpected treat! Overall a fantastic show! Five stars for the incredible setlist, and b/c the guys played so well!

I was at this show. The first 5 or six songs are great because they are uninterrupted, Utopian Fir is very good. Good sound quality.
