ok so i typically write a review so that I can click the hyperlink on my name and go back and see what i said about shows, if it was worth hearing again and all that - i can do that with other reviewers too so if your reviews are cool i can look up your other opinions too and follow the trail down the rabbithole that way - that's a great feature, that and "this day in LMA history" is how i get a ton of music these days. so, in closing, thanks LMA and tapers and reviewers and bands that are on here. but right now i'm fresh out of superlatives for this band cause they just won't quit kicking ass. so, ssia.

ps. seriously, go see live music. especially if it's this good. preaching to the choir but it bears repeating. this was the last show i have seen, as of the date of this review. it just happens to be this band. http://www.archive.org/details/um2007-06-08.AKG483-ACM-PMD671

btw schmeiny you're welcome ;)

This was my first Umphrey's show, and since then I have been to a few shows, and downloaded quite a few more. I have to say, this is the best I've heard. The solos on Nothing too Fancy were awesome, and the entire second set (40's / Breathe / Much Oblighed especially) rocked.

Boy was my face red when this show made me jism in my pants at work and I had to run out of there with my jacket around my waiste...how embarassing.

Seriously, though, I've seen numerous um fans bashing Bright Lights. My guess is that its for a reason similar to why people always nay-sayed on Heavy Things by Phish - mainly that it was way too popy, a song for the masses, and left little to no room for exploration. But Bright Lights is way better/cooler song and IMO, an awesome song all around. It has a different/unique sound than most of thier stuff - further proving versatility, it showcases Brendon B's awesome singing talents, and it does leave room for some jamming as seen in this kickass version. That's just my take on it, though. Also, whenever I hear Morning Song, I picture them playing it in front of a huge ampatheater someday (just sounds like a song made for bigger venues to me).
Breathe and the whole rest of the show was awesome, too.

This show was the tits...from the opening notes of Bridgeless to an rockin Divisions encore there wasn't a dull moment at this show! Although, as others have stated, the venue was very NYC commercialized (what would you expect?), the sound at this new venue was perhaps the best I've heard for a mid-sized indoor venue (even in the stadium style seats at the back of the room), and this translates very well to this recording by Jon Merin who never fails to put out delicious quality recordings - thank you as always.

This was an awesome concert. Theres great variety of the songs and the music is just amazing. The recording quality is pretty good. A little treble booster and it sounds perfect

Subject: Dub side
yeah it sounds more like dub side but I wonder if they meant for it to be that way...umphrey's is getting huge they are one of the bands of the future(and present) them and sector 9 will be the top of the heap I feel. good thing both are coming to Alabama in the Spring!

I was there with a friend and from the opening chord, Umphrey's rocked loudly and consistently. At times the guitar playing approached virtuousity. The crowd was unusually young for this type of band but that may be a good sign. It was a very pleasant surprise to hear them cover Pink Floyd's "Breathe" from Dark Side of the Moon. Even if you weren't at this show, it is definately worth checking out. Much thanks to the taper of this show. It sounds great. For those using an iPod, this show sounds amazing if you download in FLAC, convert to WAV then to AAC in iTunes.

As a follow-up, I acknowledge Proici's comments about Umphrey's doing Breathe from Dub Side of the Moon by Easy Star All Stars. Either way, it all comes back to the wonderful original from Dark Side :) By the way folks, the "official" copy of this show is now available at: http://www.umphreysmcgee.com/

Man, when they did it in Chicago it was tight, and this is hot too, but Chicago was the birth of 2006!!! Anyways... its really not a "Pink Floyd" cover, as this is a cover of a cover. The cd is "Dub Side of the Moon" by Easy Star All Stars... Umphrey's has obviously heard this album, cause I have and I can tell you they are covering Dub Side of the Moon... I just feel its noteworthy, otherwise this show is kickass man! Thanks Jon!

first off props to getting this show up so quickly. my first time seeing these guys but a long time coming, great show all around. i just remember the fact that i didn't stop moving at all during the sets. opening up the 2nd set with breathe with a funky reggae-esque feel set the energy level in the place to a new level. all in all good show in a venue that could be so much cooler in the hands of the right people. grab this show to see what these guys can do. till next time. peace.

The show was really really good. The venue detracted from it so much though. $6 budweisers, the layout of the place, and the fact that the whole place was pretty much a commercial just really didn't make it right. I guess NYC is cool, but if that's how shows are typically, yall need to take a trip to the world famous Tipitina's in New Orleans to figure out how it should be done. If shows aren't like that normally, I hope the guys play somewhere else that's a lot cooler.

None of that matters for listeners, so 5 star it up. Thanks for recording this stuff.

Incredible show!!! 2x2, N2F, bright lights and Divisions all in one show --- Oh yeah. Sound quality is great for a low ceiling venue and thank god for all the hot bartenders. Pipeline was a welcome surprise also!!!
