UM gets pretty deep here, which is great because it sounds like this is exactly what the fest folks were looking for. read the other reviews, this is surely worth the download, if you like the heat UM brings here, check out the other UM summerfest sets from different years for the same thing

Ohh wow, this is my favorite UM show that I've been to. The hill was jam PACKED. Even with the crazy heat, the energy was amazing with an incredible atmosphere that only festivals can bring out. Everyone was so chill, even when I hit them in the head with a frisbee. The sun just hung behind the stage for almost the whole set. It made for quite the effect.
I did notice some people trippin balls, but I personally did not find any of the liquid. It's a shame. Trippin balls or not though, this show is a must have for any Umcreep.

As I'm listening to this show again it's all coming back to me. The jams are incredible. I can see for sure the idea of collective energy and collective thought just by hearing this show again.
PS: GREAT job on the sound quality.

quality is pretty decent. any minor imperfections here enhance the experience of the recording, i think.
this is definitely one of the top five best UM shows i've ever been to or heard. i remember saying to someone at a bonfire this night, "umphrey's needs to be careful... there are kids here." not an exaggeration at all; my mind had been completely rearranged after this.
the stage they played on faced an enormous hill crowded with summercamp-type folks. the sun was behind the stage in that summer pre-setting position that stretches shadows and tints everything yellow. it seemed to stay like that for the whole show, and all of these elements, i think, had a really cool effect on what umphrey's delivered.
the jams have a genuine trance feel to them. you might notice they're more minimalistic than usual, but i felt they used minimalism to build a more true and tripped out texture. speaking of tripped out, just about everyone i ran into at this show was tripping hard. liquid acid was making its way around the hill pretty fast, and if you believe in things like mass consciousness or projected will power of crowd energy, then this explains the quality of the jams in this show. it was a complete trip.
which is not a way i'd describe one of the best bands out there. but that's what makes this show so great--it's the only umph show of its kind. get it.

this is a sick UM show. cool of moe. to give up some time so umphs could throw down for the big crowd. nice sound, a few ticks in HBB i think. one of the best sets i've seen at summercamp in years(though moe. tends to blow it up every year). this is some hard hitting shit to kick off a friday nite. thanks for the upload.
ps, check out the sun. nite split squad show w/moe.
