Monogram's Range Busters series stars Ray "Crash" Corrigan, vocalist John "Dusty" King and ventriloquist Max "Alibi" Terhune with his dummy "Elmer" in a light-headed and light-hearted western of sorts. Thieves are trying to steal gold by burrowing under the vault - an inside job as it turns out. Ranger Busters Corrigan and King spend a lot of time exchanging wise cracks while fighting over the woman in the film. Terhune splits his time playing peddler, ventriloquist and dead. All in all, not much action here - just good fun, so to speak. Gwen Gaze is the obligatory cutie here. IMDB says she was from Australia, held degrees from London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and a drama degree from Pasadena College - then between 193-43 appeared in 13 films and was credited in 9 before she married and retired. IMDb says bad guy Robert Blair appeared in 12 films and credited in 4 between 1934-47 and offers little other info. Henchman Steve Clark and Tom London were bad guy regulars. Usual bad guy, here a sheriff, Bud Osborne, a Charles King look-alike. King offers us a song or two as well. IMDb says its a
57:00 minute film, we get
55:11 here. Your very average and rather light Range Busters movie.
