Subject: Digging Out a Tomb in Turkey
The Penn Museum should provide information about the films, not only repeat the same phrase - over and over again - about not touching anything. There must have been some misuse of the movies here, but most people do not steal films. Searching for information on the Gordion film, I found an excellent source on the museum's website - the Expeditions Magazine. All issues of the magazine are now available as pdf:s. The first issue from 1958 contains an article on the Gordion tomb (http://www.museum.upenn.edu/new/Zine/1.1.shtml). The Details for this and other films could be complemented with links to relevant issues of Expedition.

The footage from Gordion depicts the joy of being an archaeologist, to dig up treasures or evidence. It also depicts how American, as well as North European archaeologists, did fieldwork in the Middle East in the 1950s.
