Subject: Coming soon to Disneyland: Steely the US Steel cartoon character!
Utterly FASCINATING commercial that has been largely ignored on here but waiting to be discovered about U.S. Steels involvement in building a hotel in Disney World. After a few glimpses of the park and monorail, we get a glimpse of the hotel and its construction, where it was sort of pre-fabricated in the plant, and then shipped to Orlando, where each hotel room was, thats right, SLOTTED IN to the hotel structure, Just like shoeboxes! Exactly. Just a completely amazing commercial, one again, which Disney purists should see. This is a total MUST SEE on this site!

Subject: Disney Magic! Brought to you by US Steel.
This ad probably dates from 1971 or 1972. It features the Disney Contemporary Resort near Disney World in Florida, which opened in 1972. Within the 60 seconds of this ad, you can the aesthetic trends of an entire era!

The main narrative discusses the innovative construction techniques used by U.S. Steel used in the hotel's construction. There are pictures of pre-fabricated rooms manufactured at an off-site facility and then hoisted into place. The narrator touts this type of construction as the construction of the future.

The real fun here is not from the engineering discussion, but from the many examples of early 70s futuristic fashion. Of course, there is Disney's monorail, which goes right through the lobby of the hotel (right by the multi-story mural). Then there are the early 70s fashions on the guests and the hotel employee (the employee uniforms are really mod!). Check out the wall coverings(!) and the hotel room furniture (in particular the chairs) as well. The soundtrack as well is very evocative of its time.
