Subject: Mt. Brewer
Mt. Brewer was named by, and after, William Henry Brewer (1828-1910) who led a geographical survey of California in the early 1860s. Clarence King was part of the survey party. Brewer's letters were published as Up and Down California, a great read in California history and exploration.
