University of Chicago student Frank Wen – Co-Winner of the 2010 University of Chicago Concerto Competition – appears with the University Symphony Orchestra in Mendelssohn’s poignantly melodious Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64. Berlioz’s exuberant Overture to Le Corsaire, premiered the very same year, opens this overtly Romantic program, and Vaughan Williams’ melodious London Symphony concludes the evening’s fare.
Performed in Mandel Hall at the University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois, USA, 04 December 2010.
