Subject: Used in Blazing Saddles

This was also used, with new text in the famous Mel Brooks film Blazing Saddles. It shows up near the end with Dom Deluise as a director doing a big MGM like picture on another backlot where Blazing Saddles was being shot.

Subject: Heard this song someplace...

I don't know if this will help, but, I think I heard this song in a Fred Astare movie.

Subject: Where have I heard this from?

OK, this is driving me nuts, I KNOW I've heard this song before, but I am not sure where. In any case, this has a great beginning, Not too sure if it's the band, the production team or what, anyways, after a great dixieland intro, it goes into the main chorus..
Here is the drag, see how it goes,
Down on the heels, up on the toes,
That's the way to do the Varsity Drag,
Do-dee-odle-oh-do!
Arrrgh! When I heard that, I was like, I've HEARD this before.. Now I can't place where..

Subject: not bad

I prefer the George Olsen version recorded in the same year, personally. Nice harmonies in this one, and definite texture.
