Aliens in need of a better tailor
Good but not great. However it does provide interesting views of a 1956 Japan caught between western and traditional Japanese values, in particular how some women appear to be leading dual lives in terms of their dress and modes of behavior. Where as the Godzilla films were set in a thoroughly westernized Japan, the settings of this film show a mixed picture that probably was closer to reality. It's also fun seeing a nightclub act in the style of RKO musicals from the '30s. I gave "Warning From Space" four stars for the same reason as accalaurie49.

Early "Armageddon" with aliens
I rate this film higher than "Armageddon". O.K., it´s easy, because I don´t like Armageddon anyway.
"Warning from space" produces a convincing atmosphere of increasing danger. Empty cities, earthquakes, tsunamis (well, who knows them better than the japanese people?).
Some lacks of credibility have to be admitted. For example: The collision is said to be happening in 50 days and the people are ordered to go to the shelter IMMEDIATELY?
Also an unnecessary subplot which does not end in a convincing way.
The film deserves 3 stars, but I give 4 to outbalance the previous low rating.
