Subject: Dorothy Page "The Singing Cowgirl" - Drip, Drip, Drip
One very slow moving western about the attempt by bad guys to block off the water needed by the cattlemen and then buy them out cheaply. Dorothy Page helps slow things down by singing three forgettable songs. Dave O'Brien is good for the little he brings to this sleeper. The movie is carried by perennial villains Stanley Price, leering, oily smile and manner, who has larceny written all over his face, Edward Gordon, one of Price's henchmen and Edward Pell, Sr. as Pierce's lawyer. There might be 20 minutes of movie worth viewing - fast forward as necessary. Should get 1 star, but it gets 2 stars for the bad guys.

Slow moving movie about a cowgirl and her pals trying to convince a entrepaneur from taking all of the water from the county and using it for for his purposes (hydraulic mining!). He's got other reasons too. He wants to pressure cowboys off their land to buy it for himself! Lady cowgirl won't have it. She won't stoop to violence, so she takes them to court. When that doesn't resolve anything, THEN they bring out the guns. So let that be a lesson to you. Also contains some songs, about the only thing the lady does in this. (All the action shots are done by da men)

Cute and schmalzy, like a cowboy movie should be. Would LOVE to see the third film Dorothy Page made as the Singing Cowgirl, if anybody has it.

Dorothy Page, the first and last of the singing cowgirls. Well, maybe, I'm not sure about that claim. Certainly the first but then there Dale Evens later. Dorothy Page made three movies and this is a good one, lots of action, simple plot, not too many songs.
The bad corporate type steals the water from Silver Creek and Dorothy gets it back despite overwhelming odds and an justice system that is ineffectual.
Words and music by Al Sherman, Walter Kent, and Milton Drake, so the songs are good and fit in with the scenes, I liked it.
