Subject: sounds great
I was sort of disappointed that nobody taped the show the night before this one (which I attended), but this one is equally good. The sound at the new Higher Ground is amazing, and this recording shows that quite well. Setlist is pretty good too, I love how they just play and don't take setbreaks, that is really sweet. Enjoy!

Subject: Thanks for a pile o' brown
Many thanks to JesseF for doing an awesome job recording, and also for sharing a great show with us. Sound is maybe one step down from a FM feed, and Ween was nice enough to put on a great set. Not too sure I understand why you're so against sharing these files as MP3's with my friends, but to each his own. Thanks for sharing with us.

Subject: Nice Recording!!!
I almost made it to this show cause I live 2 miles down the road from the venue. You can tell those shotguns make a difference in the sound quality. It definately sounds like you are closer to the stage than FOB. How were the mics configured? NOS?

Thanks for the download,

Sean

Notes

I'm pretty sure I was the only taper. This is an amazing venue...you should get there someday if you haven't yet. Say what's up to Wade if he has a free second, he's a good guy. They have a permenant pair of mics hanging from the ceiling that you can use if you want....and AC power...oh yeah. And check this out.... I had my RV in Burlington for a show and their was a show the next day...so I asked and they let me camp the night right in front of the place. How sweet is that? Don't let the word out though... it was probably a favor cause I goto school across the lake.

My mics were configured pretty close to NOS but the angle wasn't exactly 90 degrees...basically I used a flash light to line the shotguns up so they were pointing at there respective speaker stack exactly... PAS

I don't know why it says the lossless show is 1.5 gb...I only uploaded 962mb...maybe that's what it will be once it's a wav.

DO NOT TRADE OR CIRCULATE LOSSY MUSIC FILES. If you are making a cd then use the shorten files....the lossy files are there only for embedding on websites...and if your personal audio device has a small capacity....if you download a file other than shn, such as mp3, or ogg, DO NOT TRADE IT WITH ANYONE!........ Here is an excerp from etree to help explain why:
Quality is very important to the taping community. When a taper records a good show, it makes him proud and represents the band well. A copy of a show may circulate to hundreds or thousands of people over time, each of which will spend time and money sharing, burning, and listening to a show - so it's a very bad idea to put an inferior version, such as an mp3 into the trading pool. These compressions all use a lossy algorithm. This means that over time, these lossy recordings can be re-extracted and re-encoded so that it sounds very inferior to the original source. Lossless algorithms such as Shorten (.shn) allow for pure digital reproductions. Trading lossy files does injustice to the band and the taper who went out of his way to bring you some awsome tunes.
