It's hard to believe shows of this caliber take place at McCarren Pool.

I still recall being a kid in Greenpoint and going to swim at the pool over 40 years ago!

There are 3 recollections from here that I will never forget - the high dive pool (adjacent to the main pool), the lockers and baskets for your stuff (10 cent rental fee) and the time some weird guy pulled me off the exit steps in the main pool and tried to drown me when I was 10 years old.

Some day I'd like to go back and actually see a show there and experience what it's like these days. In the meantime, I'll enjoy the shows vicariously thanks to recordings like this.

So glad this finally made it off of someone's hard drive and onto archive. Wonderful summer night for a WEEN show and the boys killed it! Great recording too, despite the technical difficulties of the night.

Notes

The crackling that you hear every once in awhile is the actual PA system.
During the encore, from the end of Bananas and Blow > beginning of You Fucked Up, the right stack completely cuts out.
