A fine document of select tracks from earliest and later session, spanning RCS's recording history beginning in 2002 to the end of 2003. Eclectic instrumental grooves, a pleasure to hear.
This is a collection of tracks made before and after the work that went into Don't Mind if I Do. Overall, less intentionally whimsical than the other album, more focused on instrumental grooviness, and still there is something --odd-- about this album. From the opening track, "Open Palms," to "Death of Oolong" (a tribute to the famous Japanese pancake-wearing bunny), to "Snake Headed Dolls," a laid-back shamanistic dance number, this album pulls together some diverse threads that were not touched on by the other release.
In its year of existence, Rolling Calf Sinfonette created a rather prolific body of work, constructed entirely of samples and loops gotten from the internet. It seems that one might be able to build a music career without spending any money at all, thanks to the web.

This album is considered to withstand the test of time because I'm real old and have been listening to this album (and all of the other precious webbedhand materials) for quite some time now...and I'm liking it a lot just like I did at first-discovery time.
And the hits just keep [doing whatever it is that hits keep doing...including this album... !!!!
