Akashic Crow's Nest offers its own peculiar take on Webbed Hand Records' Rain series of album-length ambient releases. The ACN sound is distinguished by the use of an image synthesizer (pictures are translated into sounds) to produce most of the auditory elements used in its compositions. Very peculiar but often remarkably musical and uncannily magical.
Rain is a series of conceptual CDs produced under the auspices of Webbed Hand Records. Each Rain is a CD-length ambient recording ideal for listening to while relaxing, working, or socializing. Typically the recordings in this series are minimalistic soundscapes, with motifs played out cyclically and repetitively, rather than progressively, in order to induce hypnotic states.
The release number wh011 has been reassigned to this album. It was previously used by The Webbed Hand Music Sampler 2003, which has been removed from the catalog.

Reviewer:HighCalm - - April 4, 2006 Subject: some Crow's Nest and Tea, if you please. If you know what an Akashic Crows Nest is, then you probably also know how a raven is like a writing desk. Either way, Id be mad as a Hatter if I werent intrigued by the sounds emanating from within the scintillating blankets of these eerie yet persuasive tones. Can peace and a sense of foreboding coexist? They certainly seem to do so here. This offering is part of Webbed Hands extensive Rain series, which Ive just begun to explore (and fear Im getting lost within). I cant say I quite get what this series is all about yet, but Im having a ball trying. And if I keep listening Im quite sure Ill recall how a pesky raven is even 'remotely' like a writing desk.
