A project which began as a spinoff of Saluki Regicide, but which took on a personality of its own as a pattern began to emerge. This is a peculiar sound art of a very diverse nature, but unified by the presence of Shortwave signals. These bizarre tracks may bend your mind, if you are in a susceptible state.
An eclectic CD alternating between abstract and rhythmic, this body of work is dedicated to those who get the warm-n-fuzzies from hunching over shortwave radios, grooving on static and foreign sounds.
Apologies and proper attribution to Irdial Records for the heavy use of samples from their incredible CONET Project release. Moon Calf should be thought of as a tribute to the world of CONET, and is a free, non-commercial netlabel-only release.
Thank you for listening to this Webbed Hand Records release. Please visit the WHR homepage to explore our complete catalog of experimental and ambient recordings. All of our music is free to download, but we'd be very grateful if you could make a small donation (via Paypal) to help with the costs of maintaining a netlabel.

Reviewer:euchrid - - October 5, 2007 Subject: [excellent] This work not only has a great use of samples (largely from Irdial Disc's 'The Conet Project'), but also contains an excellent assortment of electronic musical styles, largely ambient, but also with beats, melodies and rhythms that make this extremely listenable.
Parts of it reminded me of the artist 'The Real Tuesday Weld', but I found 'Moon Calf' to be more interesting and a more rewarding listen.
It could be taken as ambient or as atmospheric electronica, but it is more enjoyable than either of those terms imply. Thanks to Tree Helicopter for providing this album!
