Tribe of AstronautsTribe of Astronauts - Rain 2 [wh031] ()

Seismic, elemental, oceanic, liquid. There are numerous adjectives that can well describe this subtle 72-minute composition without giving away all of its secrets. Shifting drones and drips and drops conceal deeper activities. Tribe of Astronauts' second Rain album continues in the tradition of Webbed Hand's popular series of CD-length ambient soundscapes, intended for quiet listening.

Rain is a series of conceptual CDs produced under the auspices of Webbed Hand Records. Each Rain is a CD-length ambient recording ideal for listening to while relaxing, working, or socializing. Typically the recordings in this series are minimalistic soundscapes, with motifs played out cyclically and repetitively, rather than progressively, in order to induce relaxed states.

Subject: Danke! :-)
Tief dröhnende Bässe rollen einem wellengleich entgegen. Minimalistisch, wie auch das Tropfen und Plätschern von Wasser.

Subject: My Twin Newborn Loves Rain 2!
As you know, Tom, I love all your material, but I discovered this amazing characteristic of Rain 2. My wife and I just had twins on May 5. Our boy (Tristan) is home with us now, and our girl (Kyra) should be home from the hospital any day now. We have been playing various forms of music to help Tristan get to sleep easier, such as the Baby Mozart music, etc, but Rain 2 by far wins the competition of relaxing our baby and helping him drift off to sleep! It is truly amazing and a beautiful thing, my friend. I can only surmise, based on recordings I've heard from pregnancy documentaries, that the tones of your piece simulate some of the ambient sounds and frequencies from inside the womb. Who knows, maybe this is why it is so relaxing to us adults too? Perhaps you should research frequencies and sounds of the womb in detail and create a new piece especially designed for helping infants get to sleep....or just let Rain 2 play its multipurpose role as it is doing best now for our son. I can't wait to get our little girl home to experience the same calming effect of this piece. Thank you!

Subject: I like the dark atmosphere
Very dark in texture and color... I love the crisp sounds of liquid mixed with the drones!

Subject: Great for relaxation
This is a great ambient recording for the times when you need to relax. Turn off the lights, light some candles, put on some headphones and zone out.

It also seems like this would be great when played in a room or a theatre for atmospheric effects in the background.

I reccomend it.
