A serene organ-drone soundscape, for the "Rain" series, by ambient artist Scott Lawlor, host of Stillstream's Blind Flight program.
About the album:
"I've been wanting to do something for the rain series for some months now and I've felt for a while that the organ has been underrepresented so-to-speak in the drone/ambient genres.
The only other organ set that I know of that's specifically ambient is Problem-Reaction-Solution, which I am quite fond of.
Having this in mind, and wanting to create my own organ ambient piece, I set out on a chord of A minor with some other notes that fit in, and I think that it goes really well with the sound of rain, thunder and the combination of the two.
Besides being a composer of mostly long form ambient music, I am a DJ on the stillstream.com network and host a show called the Blind Flight on Friday nights.
You can learn more about the program as well as my releases on my blog located at http://theblindflight.wordpress.com/
Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy my first contribution to the rain series. I hope to have subsequent installations available as time and scheduling permit." -- Scott Lawlor
Rain is a series of conceptual tracks produced for Webbed Hand Records. Each "Rain" is a CD-length ambient recording ideal for quiet listening while meditating, writing, or going to sleep. Typical recordings in this series are minimalistic soundscapes, with motifs played out cyclically rather than progressively, in order to induce relaxed states.
Play quiet or loud depending on your needs.

One of the better "Rain" series longforms.
The rain series is fun to see just how many different ways people can see and hear rain.
This one I would argue is more focus-music, it gives me the image of a man on an unswerving mission through dark, humid thunder to complete his goal. Great for working.

Rain, captured in Music
Nothing to say about this except the usual gushes of praise. So - a wonderful piece of music. And any music inspired by rain has to be my favorite. Thank you, Webbed Hand Records, keep releasing more of the Rain series.
