This Flash multimedia shoutback shares a song composed to give a differing point of view from that of a reporter writing for the New York Times. Created using Camtasia Studio (for Windows.) To view this multimedia, click HTTP on the left side of the screen -- half way down the screen. Then click on the file named whiskeyinyourjar.html
The melody is from the old Irish ballad, Whiskey in the Jar. I changed the wording to reflect my view that the reporter might have been tipsy when writing this article.
I've also uploaded a zipped archive for this Flash presentation that fits on a 3.5 inch floppy disk. The audio quality is slightly lower than the version presented on the web.
Feel free to copy and distribute the floppy disk version of this presentation. Give it to people you know whose voice needs to be heard.
Thanks are owed to Rosanne Singer, of Takoma Park, Maryland, whose poetry workshop planted a seed for this project.

Have you created a multimedia response to something in a newspaper or television? Upload it here to the Internet Archive and use the word "shoutback" somewhere in your file description.
You should also submit it to Del.icio.us using the tag shoutback. Then the rest of us can follow your work via the shoutback rss feed from Del.icio.us. I currently use Bloglines.com to follow rss feeds.
Please make your shoutbacks thoughtful and/or funny. A shoutback that is a rant provides no value to anyone.
If you have a blog, you might choose to link to this web page with your own take on this issue. Or you could choose not to. That's your choice.
I favor Blogger.com as a free blogging service. Blogger is owned by Google, and therefore will be around for 150 years (or more.)
If you don't yet have an account on Digg.com, this is a good time to set one up.
Or you could also decide not to.
