This film shows us possible reasons that Cathy might not be eating breakfast every morning, but ultimately asks that we, the audience, "stop the projector and discuss".
There's another film in this series, "Why Not Snack?" which deals with snacking (obviously).
I've found that most of the school films that discuss nutrition are sponsored by a dairy organization.

I have the answer to the question
I think Cathy has a boyfriend and they eat breakfast together every morning before they go to school.

This is very useful as stock footage, has nice music, and more importantly she has a very cool alarm clock. It is also very retro and that is also a plus.
WTF is that poster on her wall, though?

Maybe she's allergic to dairy products
You know what I love about this film, the way they have managed to get a dairy product in with every single item of food they show on there. Subtle, very subtle.

I'd like to rough up the narrator. Clearly Cathy has anorexia...gesh, duh. She looks better without glasses, and her hat at the end is hot. Rawk on Cathy...

Who Knows? Who Cares?
Enigmatic junior-highschooler Cathy refuses to tell the dorky narrator why she doesn't eat breakfast. Could it be that all the choices he offers her look as disgusting as the food in the average snack bar promo? (Check out the tacos especially, but not if you've just eaten.) And now I'll give away the answer to that question: no, I won't because there is no answer. It just switches to a title card that reads: "STOP PROJECTOR. DISCUSS FILM." But what's there to discuss? This very 70s film is one of the biggest "huh?" films I've ever seen. Why doesn't Cathy eat breakfast? Who knows? Who cares?

I don't know...why?
My favorite thing about this film: you can actually SEE that they used actual vaseline on the camera lens! Someone clearly just smeared it on unevenly with their fingers. Nice production values!
