Subject: The Wood Family of New Brunswick
Subject: The Wood Family of New Brunswick
This is genealogy done before the instant results of the internet. The Wood family has had a distinguished role in New Brunswick. This work was commissioned by Senator Josiah Wood, who helped pass legislation for a "temporary" income tax during World War One. One of his children, Herb Wood, is the subject of a painting by Alex Colville, "Mr Wood". A daughter married Mark Edgar Nichols who founded the Canadian Press. This short book gives us something of the antecedents of these later well-known people.
