Subject: A Significant Artifact of American Colonial History
Subject: A Significant Artifact of American Colonial History
I am perhaps both happy and sad that this book is on Archive. I am happy because I would not have otherwise found it and sad because I suspect it was destroyed in the process of digitization. Why is this book so important? Because it was the property of the Otis and Warren family for (it appears) over one hundred years before coming into the possession of the BPL. James and Mercy Warren were key figures in the American Revolution. James was an important intellectual and legal influencer and Mercy was a play write, historian, and author. That we know this book belonged to them makes it a critical piece of Revolutionary history.
