This is a great show. The source is video...it was broadcast by MTV in 1982/1983...titled as "MTV Presents: Warren Zevon". The video is great as well.

I've downloaded nearly a dozen of these WZ shows and this is hands-down the best, so far anyway. The bass-heavy FM sound happens to mesh perfectly with Warren's voice. The band is outstanding -- check out the military-style drums on Roland, or the great slide solos on Werewolves. Springsteen's Cadillac Ranch, for one, is pedal to the metal rock 'n roll. Almost the entire show rocks out harder than any other I've heard, official release or otherwise. Charlie's Medicine > Jungle Work > Play It All Night Long... wow! Warren says he better get the band intros out of the way before he gets too deranged, and it's no joke. Drunk and disorderly and at the top of his wild game. I can't imagine it getting any better than this.

I believe the actual show date is 10/1/82 but it was broadcast on 10/22/82 and is part of the circulating "Capitol & Barrymore" set.
