Macc[xgn013] Macc (March 21, 2005)

Exegene drops two exclusive tracks by Macc, especially for you drum lovers out there. Macc is becoming a wanted man in the breakbeat drum and bass scene, with a release on Paradox's Outsider label already under his belt. This year looks set to be Macc's year, with his talented and unique style unveiled on labels such as Counter Intelligence, Vibez, Subtle Audio and Synaptic Plastic.

The man himself claims that his tracks for XGN013 feature his best drum programming to date, and we'd have to agree. If you haven't heard what Macc can do with a breakbeat by now, sit back and prepare to be stunned. Accompanying you will be his trademark haunting atmospherics and truly subtastic bottom end. And don't think that this will be the last you hear from Macc on Exegene either!

Enjoy!

Subject: technical skill but...
the beats are fast and well crafted
but i didn't find it very enjoyable
to listen to. its a bit monotonous

Subject: drumfunkiness
easily two of the most wicked drumfunk tracks around. macc's drum arrangements are sophisticated to a level that makes the term "breakbeat science" sound all fresh and new again. having released on a lot of "real" labels, it's great to see the man offer some of his music for free.
grab this, it's incredible! (and btw - best exegene cover artwork ever) :)
