Subject: They sound best when they're in concert!
Okay, so the new album is out. Although the reviews are mixed, the songs are really good! Adding drums to the mix is not what most fans are used to (drums are NOT a traditional bluegrass instrument), it doesn't take away from Yonder's sound. Heck, even New Grass Revival used drums, and remember how great they were.
What this recording does show is that Yonder's best work is when they appear LIVE, and play more traditional bluegrass music. They shine on "Pan-American" and John Hartford's "Holding". All-in-all, it's a fine one microphone set by excellent musicians. DOWNLOAD IT!
