Subject: Right time!
I had just come home from a place called Black Rock City
I closed the door to my room and turned up the most resent yonder concert on Archive, as loud as i could
Today it wasn't Sound Tribe or Pgroove, or what ever else Archive has got for me to play
There were songs like Irondale and Steep Grade Sharp Curves that got me bouncing off the walls playing air strings just as hard as i could
And me in my mid 20 or 30 years old mind, I thought how cool is it that maybe somewhere, way out there somewhere Yonder Mountain's out in front a beautiful audience at a beautiful place on a beautiful night, to play some jams for them
Well there was news for me
as hard as they played for me in my small town nowhere, is as hard as their still after it today
so when Yonder starts talking bout getting to be here , right here, right now, I put down my air strings and raise my hands to the sky cause it's the right time!
I mean to be here right now and share this moment with all you lovely people
just one of those moments that makes me feel happy to be alive!
So as I listen to this song today saying what i want to say I'm as grateful as can be
I'll stay alive, you stay alive,
well stay alive, and keep rock always there!
well that's how sparks remembers it anyway, something like that.

Subject: Great Show, Great Recording
I was at the show and it was really sweet. The playing was as spirited as the crowd: yonder effing rocked! The night was absolutely gorgeous. The people were beautiful. Supplies were ample. Danced my ass off all night. I had an AMAZING time to say the least.
Some highlights for me: New Speedway Boogie (because I love the dead more than anything), SGSC->MGR->SOTP->WOF->SOTP (so much good stuff in this), Kentucky Mandolin (effing smokes), Dreams (just a great song), and OTR->Ten->GIB->Ten->OTR. Just a phenomenal show!
As far as the quality goes, it's a really nice quality recording. IMHO, this is the best sounding of the three recordings of this show here on archive. The guys sound clear and loud. The crowd is a nice volume. And there are nearly no maniacs screaming ridiculous shit by the mics. I'd get this one.
Definitely worth a listen!

Subject: Useless Knowledge
I'm listening to it right now, and your quality is nice.
As far as your notes go, since you're including covers you could also include Bob Dylan for Spanish Harlem Incident, Bill Monroe for Kentucky Mandolin, and John Hartford for Holdin'.
This Train is Bound for Glory and Raleigh & Spencer are covers of traditional songs.
Raleigh & Spencer is actually two traditionals, Riley & Spencer and Jesse James, that has been arranged into one.
I hesitate to credit Jeff Austin with that arrangement, because I have heard an early Yonder recording in which Jeff mentions having learned the song from someone else. I don't remember who he says, and it's not clear if he means the version including Jesse James or not. The recording is on the archive somewhere, but I no longer personally have it because of a computer having crashed. I can reasonably guess that it would be in the '98-'00 range, but leaning more towards the '98 side of the chronology.
Free information for the Archive!
