Hanns Ahring writes: Like the first volume of Einiges über das was uns mal so beschäftigt the music of this second volume consists of conducted improvisations. Frank Kooistra, who plays wind synthesizer, leads the group for most of the time. The result: Und dies handelt von der Picardie und den Rosen die dort wachsen. As in Am Meer, am wüsten nächtlichen Meer it's an open improvisation to which each player contributes individually. Sooner or later a pattern appears in the music. And then the leader appears, deciding which combination of instruments and ideas completes the pattern. A chemical process so to speak which makes way to a new process on which another process takes form and so on. Und dies handelt von der Picardie und den Rosen die dort wachsen is an example of a loosely lead group where the conductor mainly maintains the openness of the music so that each player can contribute to it equally.
