TO THE TRADE In issuing our 37th annual Fall trade list, I wish to personally thank our many customers for their confidence and patronage in the past, and hope to merit your continued patronage in the future. We have by untiring efforts, built one of the largest and most complete wholesale nurseries in the United States. Our facilities are unsurpassed, and we have a very capable organization. We cultivate a large acreage of land at Shenandoah, and have expert propa- gators and experienced nurserymen, many of them having been in our employ for twenty years or more. We have twenty acres of overhead irrigation especially for growing Perennials and more choice varieties of Ornamentals. Our superior storage facilities enable us to handle and ship stock through the winter months until late in the spring. All orders are given careful, per- sonal supervision and handled and packed under cover. Car lots loaded on our side track, inside our main storage building when weather is unfavorable. In addition to our plant at Shenandoah, we have established branch plants in various sections of the United States where best quality of stock can be grown. We also have connections with the best growers of French Fruit Tree Stocks in France, and are in position to furnish the trade with the best quality of French grown Fruit Tree Stocks, also we are large growers of American Stocks. We urgently request correspondence and orders from new customers, being confident that you will be pleased with our methods of doing business. “Quality and Service” is our motto. For this work we employ only skilled labor and select the best material. We use orchard scions as far as possible and vigorous, healthy seedlings, carefully selected when grading our blocks of seed- lings. Our piece root grafts are made with a six inch scion and three and one-half inch root, the same style that we make largely for our own planting. For whole root grafts we use the entire seedling, either a straight or branched root as the customer may select.
