He felt God's command had come and it was his to obey at any cost. So with two small pieces of khaddar cloth lie started. It was decided that Eamcharandas should start on the following day with the woollen dress and meet Ramdas at Mattan or Martand, the first stage in the journey where there would be a halt for two days. Ramdas duly reached the pilgrim pandit's house where he ate his meal. The pandit was an elderly man, tall and strongly built. By twelve o'clock they got into a motor-bus which carried them by evening to Mattan.
