But the food requirement calculated on the basis of the Calorie theory is unreliable, to put it mildly. Our Calorie requirement for mere sustenance, is very low, so low that we need never worry about a Calorie deficiency. Nature-Cure never cares for Calories, but it advices its patients to be careful not to exceed their capacity to digest, never to eat more than what their vital power can cope with. If they are desirous of getting back their lost health they must eat even less than what they can assimilate, so that enough vitality will be left over to do the work of repairing the body and restoring health.
