May Fi eld Trip Report Ch May 18, a group of 12 LIBS members met at Planting Fields Arboretum for a tour of the woodland trails, led by Carol Johnston. Undaunted by the grandeur of every azalea imaginable in full bloom, our first stop was to examine an unobtrusive mystery mustard along the edge of the drive. Botanical highlights included several locations of the white form of the pink ladyslipper, and Isotria verticillata with four plants in flower. For a grand (non-plant) finale, a fledgling great horned owl made an appearance. Of course, everyone in our group first identified the spruce in which it sat, before admiring the bird. ’ ANNOUNCEMENTS Welcome to new LIBS members Joseph Grupp, Richard and Barbara Lane, Marie Madigan, and Mary Rose Ruff ini.
