I want to get rid of this prison suit. 15:24.000 --> 15:30.000 Roy starts to take off his neckerchief saying, I'm doing the best I can, Dangerfield. 15:30.000 --> 15:37.000 And Dangerfield says, Again, Roy, I'm sorry to involve you in this predicament. This convict commented my vehicle. 15:37.000 --> 15:42.000 As the convict looks at Dangerfield, just for a second, Roy whips his hat into the convict's face. 15:42.000 --> 15:46.000 Roy leaps at him saying, Your gun hands rusty from your spell and jail handles. 15:46.000 --> 15:49.000 Give me the rifle or you might hurt somebody. 15:49.000 --> 15:55.000 And a minute later, Roy has the gun away from him. Quickly he hands the gun to Dangerfield while he ties the convict's arm behind him. 15:55.000 --> 16:01.000 He says, The sheriff of Saddlebute will be plumb happy to get his hands on you, Baldwin. 16:01.000 --> 16:06.000 Dangerfield exclaims, By Jove, Roy, we've captured the villain. 16:06.000 --> 16:11.000 Ah, the publicity will assure a sellout when my wild west show opens in town. 16:11.000 --> 16:15.000 Last picture, Top Row, Roy makes Baldwin get on the ant wagon. 16:15.000 --> 16:21.000 As Baldwin sits in the seat, his arms tied behind him, he snarls, No jail can hold me long. 16:21.000 --> 16:26.000 I'll square accounts with you too if it's the last thing I do. Write that in your hat. 16:26.000 --> 16:33.000 Dangerfield, still holding the gun, exclaims, Silence, Vali-trol, I'll plug you. 16:33.000 --> 16:38.000 I can see myself now before the audience, giving a hair-raising account. 16:38.000 --> 16:42.000 Suddenly Baldwin gives the horses a kick, yelling, Yahoo, get your devils. 16:42.000 --> 16:46.000 Roy yells, Watch out, he's snapping the team. Quickly, Roy leaps in the saddle. 16:46.000 --> 16:49.000 After him, triggered, he can't handle those horses with his hands tied. 16:49.000 --> 16:52.000 He gallops after the runaway team. 16:52.000 --> 16:55.000 As the runaway horses come around the bend on the edge of the cliff, 16:55.000 --> 16:58.000 the wagon catches on a huge rock, the trace is snapped, 16:58.000 --> 17:05.000 and the wagon runs wild, careening over the edge, and rolls down the mountainside, pitching Baldwin out. 17:05.000 --> 17:16.000 Last picture, Roy reigns in trigger, exclaiming, He hasn't a chance trigger, he'll be busted to bits. 17:22.000 --> 17:27.000 Oh, that man must have been crazy to make the horses run away when he was tied up like that. 17:27.000 --> 17:30.000 Yes, but desperate men try desperate actions. 17:30.000 --> 17:33.000 Well, this one certainly did. You think he was killed? 17:33.000 --> 17:35.000 Well, that's something we'll find out next week. 17:35.000 --> 17:40.000 Oh, I certainly hope that when he was thrown out of the wagon that he didn't fall in a tree or something 17:40.000 --> 17:43.000 and have the ropes busted and then have him get away 17:43.000 --> 17:46.000 because then he would come after Roy and try to kill him. 17:46.000 --> 17:48.000 Well, that's something else we'll find out next week. 17:48.000 --> 17:52.000 But I have a funny feeling we haven't heard the last of Handel's Baldwin. 17:52.000 --> 17:54.000 Oh, these adventures are so exciting. 17:54.000 --> 17:57.000 Mm-hmm. Well, now shall we see what's on the next page? 17:57.000 --> 18:01.000 Oh, yes, and I hope it's... how could this... it is! It's Flash Gordon. 18:01.000 --> 18:07.000 Last week, Flash and Dale had escaped from the Dragon's Cave when the wizards tried to kill them. 18:07.000 --> 18:09.000 Yes, they'd escaped by way of the underground river 18:09.000 --> 18:14.000 which took their raft straight to the place where the river channel supplies power to the wizards' machinery. 18:14.000 --> 18:19.000 And then they unlocked the grating that kept the logs and things from going in and busting up the machinery. 18:19.000 --> 18:24.000 Then they lifted the grating up on top above the door leading to the engine chamber and waited. 18:24.000 --> 18:29.000 And sure enough, logs did go in and the engines didn't work or something 18:29.000 --> 18:32.000 because the wizard and his helpers came out of the door. 18:32.000 --> 18:36.000 And I'm so anxious to see if Flash drops that great big grate on him. 18:36.000 --> 18:38.000 Well, let's find out right now with Flash Gordon. 18:38.000 --> 18:43.000 Rigga-rigga-doon-doons, ask him a task. Let's have music for heroic Flash. 18:43.000 --> 18:51.000 As the wizard and his troubleshooters pour out of the tunnel, 18:51.000 --> 18:55.000 Flash hurls down the heavy grating like a giant net. 18:55.000 --> 18:59.000 He shouts to Fino, grab their tools, we can use them as weapons. 18:59.000 --> 19:05.000 As the heavy grating pins the men to the ground beneath it, last picture top row with a roar of rage, 19:05.000 --> 19:08.000 the wizard leaps for the tunnel to lock the escaped door. 19:08.000 --> 19:11.000 But Flash is too quick for him. The duel is short and fierce. 19:11.000 --> 19:14.000 Are you? There! 19:14.000 --> 19:16.000 Flash knocks the wizard out. 19:16.000 --> 19:21.000 Then having defeated him and his followers, Flash puts on the wizard's robe saying, 19:21.000 --> 19:25.000 Come on, Dale, Sunnee, into the tunnel quickly. This is just the first step toward freedom. 19:25.000 --> 19:30.000 First picture bottom row, they hurry into the tunnel, barring the door behind them against the chute. 19:30.000 --> 19:35.000 Flash leads the way deeper into the unknown perils of this underground kingdom. 19:35.000 --> 19:39.000 The tunnel ends in another locked door. Flash says, 19:39.000 --> 19:42.000 Well, let's try the wizard's staff as a key. 19:42.000 --> 19:48.000 The door magically slides open to reveal the well-guarded heart of the wizard's underworld empire. 19:48.000 --> 19:52.000 Flash boldly steps forward, risking everything on his crude disguise. 19:52.000 --> 20:03.000 Oh, do you think that the rest of the wizard's men will really believe that Flash is the wizard? 20:03.000 --> 20:04.000 I hope so. 20:04.000 --> 20:08.000 Yes, but the wizard was wearing a beard and flashes. 20:08.000 --> 20:11.000 I know. Flash is really taking a great big risk. 20:11.000 --> 20:15.000 Well, next week we'll find out more about this, but now I think it's time for Dick's Adventures. 20:15.000 --> 20:17.000 Is that on the last page again this week? 20:17.000 --> 20:18.000 How did you guess? 20:18.000 --> 20:19.000 I guessed. 20:19.000 --> 20:20.000 Yes, and you guessed right. 20:20.000 --> 20:26.000 Last week, Dick woke up, remember? This week, I hope he starts another dream as exciting as the last one. 20:26.000 --> 20:30.000 Well, let's find out now. So here we go with Dick's Adventures on the last page. 20:30.000 --> 20:32.000 And say the magic words with me. 20:32.000 --> 20:36.000 Rigidipakazakazik. Let's have music for Adventurist Dick. 20:36.000 --> 20:49.000 Dick's sister and he are talking about early days of American history. 20:49.000 --> 20:56.000 They're talking about Lafayette, a Frenchman who came from France to help George Washington at a time when Washington needed much help. 20:56.000 --> 21:01.000 Dick's sister tells him she knows that Lafayette was the most dramatic figure in American history. 21:01.000 --> 21:04.000 Rich, handsome, and noble. 21:04.000 --> 21:07.000 Suddenly she looks up and finds Dick has fallen asleep. 21:07.000 --> 21:10.000 Dick is already dreaming. 21:10.000 --> 21:14.000 Last picture top row. We are with Dick in his dream. 21:14.000 --> 21:20.000 He's on a ship and an officer in a French army uniform is striding toward him. 21:20.000 --> 21:23.000 First picture next row, the officer says, 21:23.000 --> 21:30.000 Are you not the American boy which your Mr. Benjamin Franklin in Paris has sent to teach us the English speaking? 21:30.000 --> 21:32.000 Oh, I am Baron de Calde. 21:32.000 --> 21:36.000 And Dick, who still remembers his history learned in the year 1950, 21:36.000 --> 21:39.000 and who never expects himself to be meeting such a famous man, 21:39.000 --> 21:42.000 gasps, Oh, yes sir. 21:42.000 --> 21:46.000 And the Baron leads Dick to the cabin, opens the door, 21:46.000 --> 21:48.000 and as he closes it, last picture top row, 21:48.000 --> 21:55.000 Dick Cal bow stiffly and says, Marquis de Lafayette. 21:55.000 --> 22:00.000 But the Marquis waits for no ceremony. He springs from his chair and greets Dick effusively. 22:00.000 --> 22:04.000 With astonishment, Dick sees that Lafayette is scarcely 20 years old. 22:04.000 --> 22:09.000 There's hardly time for English lessons because they're nearing the American coast and soon will land. 22:09.000 --> 22:14.000 Lafayette makes Dick's task easy because he desires to learn only one phrase, 22:14.000 --> 22:17.000 and this he finally learns so well that he has no difficulty saying it. 22:17.000 --> 22:21.000 He repeats it again, first picture bottom row, proudly holding his sword in hand. 22:21.000 --> 22:26.000 General Washington, I come to fight for American freedom. 22:26.000 --> 22:34.000 The whole of France wishes you well. 22:34.000 --> 22:38.000 As the vessel nears the American coast, the excitement grows intense. 22:38.000 --> 22:41.000 Fortunately, no British gunboats are in sight. 22:41.000 --> 22:43.000 A landing is made on the South Carolina shore, 22:43.000 --> 22:54.000 and quickly the men head inland to make their way to join Washington, who is still far away. 22:54.000 --> 22:56.000 Shortly, weeks later, with Dick as their guide, 22:56.000 --> 23:03.000 last picture Lafayette, Baron de Calb, and their companions reach Independence Hall in Philadelphia. 23:03.000 --> 23:05.000 But here, a shock awaits them. 23:05.000 --> 23:18.000 They are stopped by an armed guard as they seek entry to the hall where the famous Continental Congress meets. 23:18.000 --> 23:23.000 Well, why does the sentry stop them when they've gone to all that trouble to get there? 23:23.000 --> 23:25.000 Well, it seems the sentry doesn't know who they are. 23:25.000 --> 23:29.000 Oh, that's easy. You can see who Dick is. He's been there before. 23:29.000 --> 23:33.000 Yes, but only in his dreams. And Lafayette is a stranger to that man. 23:33.000 --> 23:35.000 Oh, oh, I forgot. 23:35.000 --> 23:37.000 Uh-huh. Well, you better be here next week. 23:37.000 --> 23:41.000 Oh, I will. Isn't that Lafayette a handsome man? 23:41.000 --> 23:43.000 Yes, he certainly is. 23:43.000 --> 23:46.000 I just love him in that three-cornered hat. 23:46.000 --> 23:47.000 I like the sword better. 23:47.000 --> 23:48.000 I like the hat. 23:48.000 --> 23:52.000 Well, that front corner is interesting. Well, now look underneath Dick's adventure. 23:52.000 --> 24:01.000 Oh, Rusty Rally, this is so exciting because last week Rusty, who had trailed Squire Boggs and Captain Clune, trapped them below the deck of the old schooner house. 24:01.000 --> 24:04.000 Yes, just the way they had trapped Dick first. 24:04.000 --> 24:12.000 And yes, and just in the nick of time, Tex and Mr. Kilgore came along the path and Flip led them right to where Rusty was sitting on the old schooner. 24:12.000 --> 24:18.000 Then Kilgore investigated and found some mysterious cylinders that Captain Clune and Squire Boggs had stored away in the cabin of the old schooner. 24:18.000 --> 24:23.000 And then he came and told Rusty that Rusty had caught the smugglers and Tex was so surprised. 24:23.000 --> 24:25.000 And so was Rusty. 24:25.000 --> 24:27.000 Yes, let's find out what happens now. 24:27.000 --> 24:29.000 Very well, here we go with Rusty Rally. 24:29.000 --> 24:33.000 Gallop and run till the road is dusty. Give us music for his horse and Rusty. 24:33.000 --> 24:42.000 Music 24:42.000 --> 24:45.000 Kilgore makes his astonishing statement. 24:45.000 --> 24:50.000 Rusty exclaims, what do you mean the case is solved Mr. Kilgore? What did you find down there in the cabin? 24:50.000 --> 24:57.000 Mr. Kilgore replies, well those cylinders are hermetically sealed and contain silks for one thing, maybe a lot of other stuff. 24:57.000 --> 25:08.000 Then they remove the hatch cover and Kilgore calls down, come on up Boggs, you too Clune, you're under arrest for violation of the United States customs regulations. 25:08.000 --> 25:10.000 Rusty says, here they come. 25:10.000 --> 25:13.000 Squire Boggs and Clune face him, last picture top rule. 25:13.000 --> 25:20.000 Kilgore says, well you two, will you come along quietly or must I call a coast guardsman and put handcuffs on you? 25:20.000 --> 25:25.000 Squire Boggs exclaims, well look here sir, I'm not accustomed to this sort of indignity. 25:25.000 --> 25:29.000 I'll see to it that you'll answer for this high-handed outrage. 25:29.000 --> 25:35.000 And Captain Clune snorts, you've been listening to some crazy made-up yarn from that darn young chap. 25:35.000 --> 25:42.000 First picture bottom row Kilgore says, all right, you can explain your outraged innocence to a federal court. 25:42.000 --> 25:46.000 But if you're smart, you'll make a clean breast of the whole thing. Get going. 25:46.000 --> 25:56.000 A little later at the Miles house, Mr. Kilgore is talking to Mr. Miles. 25:56.000 --> 26:01.000 Sorry we had to disturb you Mr. Miles, but I have to say Mr. Boggs nephew Anthony. 26:01.000 --> 26:04.000 Also I'm expecting a call from the Coast Guard. 26:04.000 --> 26:10.000 Mr. Miles who is amazed that the story is heard and proud of Rusty's work in solving the mystery of the smugglers, responds, 26:10.000 --> 26:17.000 oh think nothing of it Mr. Kilgore, but don't tell me that the children's teacher is a criminal. 26:17.000 --> 26:21.000 At that moment the phone rings. Mr. Kilgore answers it. 26:21.000 --> 26:29.000 Hello, yes it's Kilgore. You have? Well good work. I'll just keep him under guard until morning. 26:29.000 --> 26:35.000 That was smart work. As he hangs up the phone last picture, Mr. Kilgore tells Mr. Miles, 26:35.000 --> 26:40.000 well this case is rapidly being wrapped up. That was the Coast Guard. 26:40.000 --> 26:43.000 They have a boat and crew that were working with Boggs and Clune. 26:43.000 --> 26:47.000 At this moment Anthony, Mr. Boggs nephew comes in. Mr. Miles says, 26:47.000 --> 26:52.000 well here's Anthony Mr. Kilgore. He doesn't seem to know what this is all about. 26:52.000 --> 27:02.000 Oh isn't that wonderful. I'm so pleased with Rusty. He's such a hero. 27:02.000 --> 27:08.000 Just imagine a little boy solving that great big case. Yes, I'll bet Tex is mighty proud of him. 27:08.000 --> 27:13.000 Say, do you think that Anthony's telling a fib when he says he doesn't know what this is all about? 27:13.000 --> 27:17.000 I'm not sure, but maybe we'll find out more about him next week. 27:17.000 --> 27:21.000 But before I go, here's that fellow with some more interesting information. 27:21.000 --> 27:24.000 Well honey and all you boys and girls, I gotta go now. 27:24.000 --> 27:28.000 Alright Mr. Comic Weekly Man, but I'll be waiting for you next week. 27:28.000 --> 27:31.000 Okay, that's a date and a date with all you boys and girls. 27:31.000 --> 27:35.000 Be sure to meet me with our little friend Miss Honey next week when I read Pop the Comic Weekly. 27:35.000 --> 27:41.000 For I'm the Comic Weekly Man, the jolly Comic Weekly Man. 27:41.000 --> 27:43.000 I'll be back next week. 27:43.000 --> 27:51.000 When I read Pop the Comic Weekly.
