The Book of the REVELATION

CHAPTER 15

15:1  And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.  2  And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.  3  And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.  4  Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.  5  And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:  6  And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.  7  And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.  8  And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

1. Prelude to the Bowl Judgments- Preparation for the Last Judgements of God

God Has shown judgement by the breaking of the 7 seals after church is raptured

He sent forth 144,000 to preach the gospel

Nations reject the gospel, God sends 7 trumpet judgements

He sent forth his 2 witnesses to perform miracles & preach the gospel

Nations reject these men and God’s message once more has been ignored

He sent forth His angel, flying thru the heavens preaching the everlasting gospel

Now here comes the prelude to the last judgement of God

            a. The Sign in Heaven  (Verse 1)

The sign in heaven showing 7 angels with the 7 last plagues containing God’s wrath

            3 series of 7’s

1-The 7 seals               God allowed man to destroy man

2-The 7 trumpets         God allowed satan to unleash his fury

3-Now 7 vials/bowls   God sends His direct judgement

            b. The Song of Victory (Verse 2-4)

1- The sea represents the human masses & The fire represents judgement

Those standing on the sea of glass are those martyred during the tribulation,

these are those that got victory over the beast (by dying) and are now in heaven.

In losing their lives they really gained their lives for Jesus sake.

2- The Song of Moses & the Song of the Lamb (Law & Grace together)

The song always represents deliverance from the enemy

Song of Moses (Ex 15:1-3,17,18) Song of the Lamb (Passover Lamb)

The content of the song: (Verse 3 & 4)

God is Almighty and is great and marvelous…He is just and true

He is the King of all saints, He shall be feared, He is holy, He is to be

worshipped by all nations, His judgements are forthcoming

            c. The Heavenly Mercy Seat (Verse 5-8)

Here is a look into the heavenly temple, inside the Holy of Holies, at the Ark

1-God is showing Himself as a covenant keeper…..He is Faithful

2-The 7 angels w/ the plagues are in white as they are holy angels

The 7 angels w/ the plagues are with golden girdles as they are sent by the King

3-The angels are given 7 vials or bowls containing the wrath of God

4-The temple is filled with the smoke of the Glory of God

No one can go into the temple until the vials are poured out

Meaning no one can intercede for the nations anymore**God’s wrath poured out

            d. When Does God Exercise His Wrath

1-When His Love is Sneered At (Gal 6:7,8) Don’t mock God

2-When His Merciful Reproof is Rejected (Prov 29:1) Don’t spurn His correction

3-When His Longsuffering is Ignored (Luke 12:17-20, Prov 27:1, James 4:13,14)

During the Tribulation (II Thess 2:9,10) men have rejected God’s Love

What is Your relationship with God ? Do you sneer at his love? Do you reject His merciful reproof ? Do you ignore His longsuffering with you ? God knows the thoughts and intents of your heart!!
