to stop to take breath and" see where we stand,
lest the strain be too great and we be carried
off our feet. No wonder so many ask what is
Theosophy ? The Divine Wisdom points out to
us God's plan. It lies in the power of each one
of us to pause and think, and we can discrimi-
nate that which helps from that which hinders.
In this sketch I have not been able to express a
quarter of what I wanted to say. I have men-
tioned the War ; was that part of God's plan ?
My answer is Yes, because we would have it no
other way. It is always in my mind that the
Great Brotherhood above must have hoped that
we would make conditions so that all the
suffering and pain might be averted, but it had
to be to break up the conditions which we had
made.
The question now before us is, are we
considering the conditions before us now ?

said. He is the Great Geometrician, and to
work against Him, or not actively for Him, is to
break ourselves on the wheel. In what lies the
difference of the way we work and how are
we to recognise the difference ? In a word, I
