Believing in the Fatherhood of God, it follows as a necessary corollary that we should believe in the Brotherhood of man, and it seeks to form a nucleus with that idea. The second object follows as a necessary consequence, if I may say so, of the first; for in order to bring all peoples together the first thing to be done is to study the reason as to why they are divided, and this causes us to study the people, to study their religion, philosophy and science. It is very clear that this is essential if you want to understand a nation, so the second object of the Theosophical Society is " To encourage the study of Comparative Religion, Philosophy and Science".
