No man belongs to himself, but he is of God, and all are one. So much so that what one does, affects all, and what one is, affects all; any attainment raises ever so slightly the whole world, and any slipping back retards it in the same degree. This is the meaning of the inspiring thought of an ancient prayer: That they may be one, as Thou, Father, art in me and I in Thee, That they also may be One in Us.
